It's Kathrin here today posting a new inspiration for you. Well, Easter has passed and besides a few birthdays there's no special holiday coming anytime soon. It's always kind of the hardest time of year since there isn't an occasion you can prepare a bunch of cards for. So I just went with what I felt like and made a romantic card to share with you:
I went with a light pink and grey color scheme here and got inspired by this while going through the papers from the Tears in the Rain collection. This might not be the collection that comes to your mind first thing when you think of romantic cards. But there's this sheet in grey with the beautiful light pink flowers printed on one edge. And that got me started. I used the 15 x 15 cm papers here, simply because they have a smaller pattern which I liked better for my card.
This is the image I picked - I just felt like doing something summer-ish. I tried to go with the colors from the papers to color the image in. I also used the same paper from the Ever and Always Collection that I used for the base of my card to cut a scalloped circle to tuck under the image.
In the top left corner I've added two tags that I've cut from the back of the dotted pink paper. It has those beautiful grey and pink roses printed on - just perfect for what I was going after designwise. I've put a white matting under the tags to get some contrast but still keep it soft.
Here you can also see the great paper from the Dreams Come True Collection. It's a very dark grey, so again maybe not the first pick for romantic. But those white doilies printed on it make it perfect again.
And here I took a picture of the area of my card where you can see that paper with the flower edge that I've talked about earlier. I also used this, together with two other papers I used somewhere else on the card, to make 3 little banners put across my card. Then I've added some cheesecloth and a few flowers to the bottom right corner.
Have a happy and sunny day everyone!
